So I finally got a mail I was waiting for quite a while,
but when it arrived,
it challenged something in me...
So here is my REVENGE HARHARHAR
I found out by accident, that my site was down because of a DDOS attack.
Now granted, it was aimed towards a different site hosted on the same server, but saying I was hit by a DDOS still makes me giggle.
here are some mor einformations:
I have already installed quite a few different linux distributions trying out how they work and feel with this system.
My first move was debian, but i couldn't get some of the hardware to work properly....
Now I'm on Xubuntu and it feels good...
I may stick with it.
So boot2gecko finaly got the update to support the version of TLS that my mailserver uses.
This is the start of my trial to use firefox OS exclusively and get rid of Android.
Now You may ask WHY??? and you would not be alone.
For the same reason I use Linux:
To not be the easiest target.
Now I don't plan or expect to be 100% safe,
but I try to be more secure then most users, just to not fall prey to easily,
Oh and I love to try out new stuff, so here we go.
UPDATE: I failed,
It's mainly the unfinished browser and some issues with the mail client that keep boot2gecko from working for me....
yeah, the firefox on firefox os works worse then the firefox on android....
I just wanted to try this and post parts of my upcomming build:
The setup was quite easy:
1. install RaspBMC on the SD
2. plug the Pi into one HDMI port of the TV
3. plug the network jack in
4. Use an old NOKIA charger for energy
5. Setup the network share where I store my digital media
6. Never be allowed to play with the raspberry pi again, as your better half wants to watch stuff....
and here a visual aid:
